Brief Introduction

The weed pellet press is a piece of biomass pelletizing equipment specifically designed for processing coarse-fiber materials such as weeds and forage grasses. It transforms field weeds, hay, and various herbaceous agricultural and forestry wastes into high-density cylindrical pellets without the need for chemical binders; the raw materials are simply crushed, conditioned, and then directly compressed into shape. Capable of producing feed pellets, biomass fuel pellets, and organic fertilizer substrate pellets, the press is suitable for a range of operational settings, including small-scale livestock farms, cooperatives, and biomass processing plants.

Working Principle

The weed pellet mill produces pellets through the mutual compression of pressure rollers and a die. Pre-processed weed fragments enter the pelletizing chamber, where rotating pressure rollers force the material into the die holes. The compression process generates frictional heat that softens the lignin within the weeds; this lignin acts as a natural binder, bonding the herbaceous fibers together. As the material is continuously extruded from the die holes, a cutter slices it into uniform pellets. The pellets emerge at a high temperature but, after passing through auxiliary cooling and screening equipment, result in a finished product that is hard and structurally stable.

2. Forage crops: Alfalfa, ryegrass, elephant grass, pennisetum (fountain grass), Chinese ryegrass (Leymus chinensis), and hay;

3. Crop stalks/straw: Corn stalks, wheat straw, rice straw, peanut vines, and soybean vines;

4. Other additives: Rice husks, reeds, tree leaves, and sugar beet pulp; these can be mixed with corn flour and soybean meal to produce feed pellets.
