Brief Introduction
The Giant Miscanthus pellet mill is a specialized biomass ring-die pelletizing press optimized for the material characteristics of Giant Miscanthus—specifically its long fibers and high toughness. It compresses pre-pulverized Giant Miscanthus raw material into high-density cylindrical pellets. A single unit can switch between producing biomass fuel pellets and forage feed pellets, making it suitable for small-to-medium processing plants and large-scale Giant Miscanthus plantations; it can also be integrated into a complete production line featuring pulverizing, drying, cooling, and screening equipment. As Giant Miscanthus is a high-yielding perennial energy crop, this pellet mill addresses the challenges associated with its loose structure, high bulk volume, and difficulties in storage and transport, transforming the raw material into high-value-added pellet products.
Working Principle
The pre-treated Miscanthus powder is fed into the pelletizing chamber by a forced-feeding mechanism. As the rotating ring die drives the synchronous rotation of the press rollers, the fibrous Miscanthus material enters the wedge-shaped compression zone formed between them; under high-pressure friction, the internal lignin softens to act as a natural binder, and the material is continuously extruded into the die holes to take shape. Upon exiting the die holes, the cylindrical extrudate is cut into pellets of a specified length by an adjustable cutter. The finished pellets then undergo cooling and screening to complete the pelletization process, which requires no additional binders.
