Brief Introduction
A corn stalk pellet mill is a biomass pellet fuel forming machine that uses agricultural waste such as corn stalks, cotton stalks, soybean stalks, rice stalks, wheat stalks, sawdust, wood powder, wood chips, rice husks, and peanut shells as raw materials. This equipment can extrude and solidify loose, low-density agricultural waste into smooth, cylindrical pellets with a diameter typically between 8-12 mm and a density of 0.9-1.2 T/m³. The resulting pellets can be used as biomass fuel in boilers, fireplaces, and gasifiers, or mixed with concentrated feed to produce roughage for livestock farming.
Working Principle
Corn stalk pellet mills primarily utilize the extrusion molding principle. The molding process requires no heating; pressure forces the biomass particles to squeeze, fill, and embed themselves together, ultimately forming the pellet. Water within the biomass cells acts as a lubricant during compression, while cellulose, lignin-glucan, and pectin-like polysaccharides in the cell walls act as binders, preventing the pellets from breaking easily after molding. The equipment can adjust the molding pressure by changing the stroke or the gap between the pressure rollers to accommodate different types of straw and materials with varying moisture contents.

Suitable Raw Materials
Corn stalk pellet mills are highly adaptable to various raw materials, primarily suitable for: corn stalks, wheat stalks, rice stalks, cotton stalks, soybean stalks, sorghum stalks, and other crop stalks; rice husks, peanut shells, sunflower seed shells, and other fruit and vegetable shells; sawdust, wood powder, wood chips, shavings, branches, bark, and other wood processing waste; as well as organic waste such as weeds and household garbage. The moisture content of the raw materials is generally required to be no more than 25%, and mature crop stalks usually do not require drying before direct processing.
Application Areas
The finished corn stalk pellet mill's pellets are mainly used in two main areas: firstly, as biomass fuel, used in biomass power plants, industrial boilers, residential fireplaces, gasifiers, and other combustion scenarios, replacing fossil fuels such as coal; secondly, as roughage in livestock farming, used for feed processing of livestock such as cattle, sheep, and rabbits, as well as poultry such as chickens, ducks, and geese, and also for feed production in aquaculture. In addition, this equipment can also be used for low-temperature granulation of organic fertilizers and compound fertilizers.
