Brief Introduction
The dry straw pellet mill is a type of biomass ring-die pelletizing equipment specifically designed for coarse-fiber agricultural residues like dry straw. It compresses loose, dry straw into high-density, cylindrical pellets. Suitable for individual farmers, cooperatives, and biomass processing plants, the equipment can produce either fuel or feed pellets, with adjustable specifications ranging from 4 mm to 12 mm. Its capacity spans from small-scale, household-use models to large-scale industrial production lines. This technology addresses challenges such as the large storage footprint of dry straw, high transportation costs, and pollution caused by open-field burning, thereby enabling the recovery and repurposing of straw resources.
Working Principle
The pretreated dry rice straw material is fed into the feed bin of the dry rice straw pellet press and enters the compression chamber between the ring die and the pressure wheel; the pressure wheel rotates to squeeze the material, relying on friction to generate high temperature, which activates the lignin inside the straw to act as a natural binder; the material is pressed by external force. It is pressed into the die hole of the ring die and formed under pressure in the die hole; after continuous extrusion, the cylindrical particles are extruded from the die hole, cut into fixed lengths by a cutter, and then transported to cooling and screening to obtain the finished dry straw particles. The entire process is physically extruded without the need to add additional binders.

Suitable Raw Materials
Primary raw material: Dry rice straw (rice stalks; an optimal moisture content of 10–15% is recommended).
Compatible raw materials: Wheat straw, corn stalks, peanut vines, hay, alfalfa, rice husks, and various other types of dry agricultural crop residues or herbaceous biomass materials.
