Brief Introduction
TONY Double Shaft Shredder is a low-speed, high-torque shearing machine designed for primary size reduction. It utilizes blades mounted on rotating shafts to shear, tear, and crush large solid materials into smaller pieces. Distinguished from high-speed impact pulverizers, this equipment operates at low speeds with minimal noise and is capable of processing hard materials; it is widely used in solid waste recycling and the pre-processing of renewable resources.
This low-speed, high-torque, dual-shaft shredder specializes in the primary size reduction and pre-processing of large, mixed, and tough materials. Operating at 8–25 rpm, it features low noise and dust levels, as well as a PLC-controlled automatic reverse function to prevent jamming, making it a primary piece of equipment for the initial stage of solid waste recycling.

Working Principle
TONY Double Shaft Shredder utilizes two parallel shafts rotating towards each other at low speeds, employing alloy steel blades to grab, compress, and shear materials. Characterized by low operating speeds and high output torque, the machine functions by having the rotating blades grip large materials fed into the hopper and tear or shear them apart through the intermeshing action of the shafts. If hard foreign objects enter the feed and the load exceeds the preset limit, the PLC control system triggers an automatic reversal function; the shafts reverse direction to clear the jam before resuming forward rotation, effectively preventing motor stalling or burnout.
Typically, Double Shaft Shredder does not utilize a discharge screen, resulting in irregularly shaped output particles ranging from 50 to 300 mm; it is primarily used for the pre-treatment of solid waste. For bulky or low-density materials, a hydraulic ram can be installed to force-feed the material and enhance processing efficiency. The blades feature a modular design, allowing individual worn blades to be replaced separately. The unit operates with low noise and minimal dust generation, capable of shredding mixed materials such as wooden pallets, plastic drums, bulk bags (FIBCs), bulky waste, and light-gauge metals. Shredded material is transported via conveyor and can be integrated with magnetic separation and secondary shredding equipment to form a complete recycling production line.
